Reliable Backup Power For Commercial Facilities Across the Tri-State Area

A commercial power outage can interrupt production, shut down building systems, damage inventory, and leave customers or tenants in the dark. National Standby Repair Inc. has supplied dependable backup power since 1981. Our family and veteran-owned company sells commercial generators from Generac, Kohler, Cummins, WINCO, Briggs & Stratton, and other major manufacturers. Our factory-trained technicians are also certified by the Electrical Generating Systems Association. We assess your facility, calculate its electrical demand, and recommend the right equipment for your operation. Contact us to schedule a free on-site commercial generator assessment.

Commercial Generac Generators

Generac offers gaseous and diesel commercial generators for small businesses, large properties, and facilities with substantial three-phase demand. Available features may include Evolution controls, Quiet-Test exercise cycles, remote monitoring through Mobile Link or Generac Fleet, multiple transfer switches, and load-management or paralleling capabilities. We compare your voltage, phase, motor-starting loads, fuel source, runtime goals, and monitoring needs before recommending a Generac system.

Kohler Commercial Standby Generators

Kohler manufactures commercial gaseous and diesel generators for offices, schools, healthcare properties, industrial sites, and other facilities. Depending on the model, available features include Decision-Maker controls, sound-attenuated enclosures, remote monitoring, automatic transfer equipment, and paralleling options. Kohler's motor-starting performance can be useful for buildings with central air conditioning, pumps, compressors, elevators, and other equipment that creates high startup demand.

Cummins Commercial Generators

Cummins offers natural gas, propane, and diesel generators for applications ranging from small commercial buildings to hospitals and industrial facilities. PowerCommand controls can provide system metering, voltage and frequency regulation, alarm messages, protective shutdowns, and remote operation. Cummins also offers compact and sound-attenuated systems for properties where available space and operating noise require extra consideration.

WINCO Commercial and Industrial Generators

WINCO's PSS line includes air-cooled and liquid-cooled gaseous generators for businesses, warehouses, agricultural properties, and industrial facilities. Larger models are available in several single-phase and three-phase configurations, including 120/208 and 277/480 volts. WINCO can be a practical choice for customers who want rugged construction and straightforward controls without paying for capabilities their facility does not need.

Briggs & Stratton Commercial Standby Options

Briggs & Stratton standby generators may fit smaller offices, retail locations and malls, professional practices, community buildings, and other light-commercial properties. Available systems may include natural gas or propane operation, automatic transfer equipment, remote monitoring, and load-management controls. We review the building's running load and motor-starting requirements before determining whether Briggs & Stratton offers enough capacity for the application.

Additional Commercial Generator Options

National Standby Repair also works with equipment from ASCO, Caterpillar, Onan, Baldor, Kubota, Olympian, Siemens, Volvo Penta, and other manufacturers. We may recommend another brand when a facility requires a particular output, voltage, controller, enclosure, fuel type, or transfer-switch arrangement. Our goal is to match the equipment to the building and its operations.

Who We Serve

Commercial Facilities We Serve

National Standby Repair supports hospitals, assisted living facilities, schools, municipal buildings, warehouses, restaurants, veterinary offices, dealerships, high-rises, event venues, industrial sites, and many other commercial properties.

  • Office Buildings and Corporate Facilities

We sell generator systems for offices that need to maintain computers, servers, phone systems, security equipment, access controls, lighting, HVAC systems, elevators, and building pumps. A small professional office may only need selected circuits, while a larger corporate property may require three-phase power and multiple transfer switches.

  • Industrial and Manufacturing Buildings

Industrial facilities may rely on generators to support machinery, compressors, pumps, conveyors, process controls, ventilation, refrigeration, and other production equipment. We review both normal operating demand and high motor-starting loads, along with the order in which equipment will restart after an outage.

  • Medical and Healthcare Facilities

We serve medical offices, urgent care centers, outpatient facilities, assisted-living properties, veterinary hospitals, and other healthcare operations. Backup power may be needed for refrigeration, communications, climate control, lighting, security systems, computers, and medical equipment, along with any systems governed by applicable standby-power requirements.

  • Schools and Education Facilities

Schools, colleges, childcare centers, training facilities, and administrative buildings may need backup power for emergency lighting, communications, security, heating, kitchens, refrigeration, technology, and water or sewage pumps. We size the system around how the building is expected to function during an outage.

  • Retail, Hospitality, Residential and Mixed-Use Properties

We also sell commercial generators for restaurants, grocery stores, hotels, shopping centers, apartment buildings, residential high-rises, entertainment venues, off-grid locations, and mixed-use properties. Depending on the building, backup power may support refrigeration, elevators, pumps, security systems, point-of-sale equipment, emergency lighting, access controls, and tenant services.

The Commercial Generator Sales Process

A commercial generator should be selected around your facility's electrical demand, operating priorities, fuel supply, and physical layout.

Natural Gas, Propane and Diesel Commercial Generators

Natural gas can support long runtimes without an on-site storage tank, provided the utility supply remains available and has enough capacity for the selected generator. It is commonly used for offices, retail properties, apartment buildings, and other commercial sites with an existing gas service.

Propane provides on-site fuel storage and can work well where natural gas is unavailable. Tank size, generator demand, expected runtime, and winter conditions all affect the final design.

Diesel generators offer strong motor-starting performance and remain common in healthcare, industrial, municipal, and larger commercial applications. They require on-site fuel storage, and the condition of that stored fuel must be checked over time.

We compare availability, fuel pressure, storage, runtime, maintenance, permitting, and expected load before recommending an option.

Commercial Generator Service After the Sale

A commercial standby generator needs regular attention after installation. Exercise cycles alone do not confirm that it can carry the building's actual load or operate reliably for an extended outage.

National Standby Repair offers Annual Service Contracts, preventive maintenance, repairs, certified warranty work, transfer-switch testing, load bank testing, and fuel testing, filtration, scrubbing, and polishing. Contract customers can also receive 24/7 priority service when a generator problem cannot wait until normal business hours.

Our factory-trained and EGSA-certified technicians work on most major commercial and industrial generator brands. You will have a company familiar with the equipment, the installation, and the needs of your facility long after the initial sale.

  • The service was the best from any of the providers we use on a regular basis. You showed real loyalty to the customers that have annual contracts with you. We called in the middle of our power outage in Connecticut and your very knowledgeable repair technician was at our home in two hours.

  • The power went out and the generator is working perfectly! It is so quiet I actually had to open the door to the patio to hear if it was on or whether it was just a quick outage and the regular power was back on. I am so happy we went with this one. Thank you so much for getting this perfect. I love it!
